April 2010 Student Newsletter

Alberto: I'm loving your speed and fretboard understanding. I'd like to see you do more sight reading. It always seems you're a little uncomfortable reading, although you're playing & reading very advanced music. Discipline yourself to do some sight reading daily and you will soon overcome the discomfort.

Arno: Welcome to the roster. You know a lot about music. That's a great thing. You have slid into some bad habits in your technique. It's going to take a while to make new, correct technique habits, but I have every reason to believe you're going to be a competent guitarist. Welcome, welcome, welcome.

Arthur: Wow! You've improved so much over the past 2 months! I know you love to play and that you're practicing. Keep on doing what you're doing.

Brad: You're doing really well. I'd like to see you put in more time. If you do, you can be a real monster player.

Carol: Well, we're almost back to where you were before calamity with the house and your visit to Florida. This past lesson was excellent. Relax, we'll regain the lost ground and move forward. Don't stress. It's coming together nicely.

Christina: You're doing beautifully. Your playing is much more fluid and smooth. Capitalize on practice when your study schedule allows.

Danielle: You got off to a good start when school resumed. Now you're advancing well & very quickly. I'm so glad you love your guitar & are practicing & playing so well. Great!!

Gary: Your last few lessons have been extraordinarily good. I think we've turned a corner. Your command of the fingerboard is progressing very well. We'll continue to work on your rhythm.

Mara: I will miss you. I hope you'll be back when your schedule allows. Keep playing!

Melissa: (Fair Lawn): Last week you spent more time, practicing. You're doing ok, but it could be much better. Kick that discipline into gear, practice daily and you'll be playing better and enjoying it more.

Melissa:(Westwood): I know you practice whenever you can, but we've missed a few lessons, which interrupts your progress and enthusiasm. Let's stay on track. When I see you, your playing is great. Be sure you're practicing daily.

Merav: I love your eclectic taste. I know Junior year is a killer, but it's almost done. Once your SATs are out of the way, you'll be able to relax and glide through the end of the school year. Keep up the excellent work you're doing on the guitar.

Olivia: You are doing fabulously. There isn't anything you don't understand. The new guitar is a pleasure to hear and you're playing is just great. Excellent!!

Rob: You are prgressing beautifully! Most students playing for the months you have, do not advance as quickly or as well as you have. Continue as you have been. Great work.

Sam: We had another long break, due to your health. I know you'll get back on track in the coming weeks. When you play, it's surprising how well you do, considering all the down time you've had.

Shanti: Although we're taking a break, "due to life," I'm sure when you can organize your time, you'll be back on track, resurrecting your technique, theory, playing etc.

Talia: You are doing marvelously. I'd like to see you put a little more practice time in, but for your age, you are playing amazingly well. Super work and progress. Practice a little more.

Todd: We were off for a few weeks and that stalled your progress, but we're back on track, now. Your morning practice time, before work seems to be profitable, so keep it up when you are able. I know you have some aspirations of playing a particular piece by a particular date. We'll work on it together & the rest will be up to you.
